Chattogram (Chittagong) is Bangladesh's main seaport and carries nearly all of the country's container exports to the United States. Mongla, in the south-west, is the second seaport and takes a small share of containers. Export air cargo flies from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in Dhaka.

Most export containers are stuffed at private off-dock depots around Chattogram before they enter the port. From there a feeder vessel takes them to a hub such as Colombo, Singapore, Port Klang or Tanjung Pelepas for the mainline sailing, and the lane guide publishes 45โ58 days to the main US ports.
