Cambodia has two container gateways. Phnom Penh Autonomous Port is a river port on the Mekong, and its main container terminal, LM17, is in Kandal province about 30 kilometers from the capital. Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, on the Bay of Kompong Som, is the country's only deep-sea port.
Garments, footwear and travel goods make up about half of Cambodia's exports. No transpacific service calls in Cambodia, so every container is relayed at a hub: in the September 2026 carrier schedules, Phnom Penh sailings relayed at Cai MepโVung Tau in Vietnam, and Sihanoukville sailings most often at Singapore. Containers from Phnom Penh go down the Mekong by barge to Cai Mep or Cat Lai in Vietnam, or by truck through the BavetโMoc Bai border gate. Since 9 September 2025, the capital's airport has been Techo International Airport (KTI), which replaced Phnom Penh International Airport.
