Using 4701 on entry documents
CBP’s list of valid ACE port codes (Appendix E, revised 2026-02-03) gives John F. Kennedy Airport, Jamaica, NY as port 4701. The Census Bureau’s trade-statistics edition of Schedule D does not include 4701; it numbers the same airport 1012, a code CBP’s list does not include.
Port code 4701 identifies John F. Kennedy Airport, Jamaica, NY as the port of entry on CBP Form 7501, the entry summary a broker files for every formal entry. The same four digits identify the port in ACE entry filings, in AMS manifest data and in the Importer Security Filing (ISF), which must be on file before ocean cargo loads for the United States.
The first two digits are the customs district: 4701 belongs to district 47, and every port of entry in that district starts with the same two digits.
The code is for customs, not carriers. Carriers, forwarders and NVOCCs book and manifest against the UN/LOCODE for the place, and the bill of lading shows that five-character code, not the Schedule D code. For John F. Kennedy Airport, Jamaica, NY that UN/LOCODE is USJFK; give the broker 4701 and the carrier the UN/LOCODE.
CBP adds and retires codes as ports of entry open, merge or close, so confirm 4701 against the current CBP publication before filing. Airlift USA does not hold a U.S. customs broker license; entries on cargo we move are filed through our licensed broker network.
