How to track American Airlines Cargo cargo

  1. Find the 11-digit air waybill number on the AWB or the booking confirmation. On a consolidated shipment, ask the forwarder for the master AWB: the airline doesn't know the forwarder's house AWB number.
  2. Check the first three digits. American Airlines Cargo numbers start with 001; any other prefix belongs to another airline's tracker.
  3. Enter the number on American Airlines Cargo's tracker. The form has ten rows, each a three-digit airline code (the first pre-filled 001) and an eight-digit AWB number. No login is needed to search.

American Airlines Cargo calls Dallas/Fort Worth its central US hub. Since October 20, 2014 it has issued its air waybills on prefix 001; US Airways air waybills used 037 before that.

Booked with Airlift?

Airlift doesn't run its own airline tracking, and the Airlift container tracker covers ocean shipments only. If Airlift booked your shipment on American Airlines Cargo, your Airlift contact has the flight milestones and can tell you where it is.
